My First Encounter With SPOKEN WORD

My first encounter of this form of poetry was when i listened to Ghana's own Mutumbo Da Poet, Ever since i have found this art very Inspiring and Deep.. I also Listened to a British Spoken word Artiste by The name Suli Breaks and I realised that if i spent half the Time i Listen and sing along to Meaningless but catchy Songs and then Listen to more Spoken word, I would not Only Enjoy It but it will have a Positive impact in my Life.. For those of you who are aliens to this form of art.
Spoken word poetry is poetry that is written on a page but performed for an audience. Because it is performed, this poetry tends to demonstrate a heavy use of rhythm, improvisation, free association, rhymes, rich poetic phrases, word play and slang. It is more aggressive and “in your face” than more traditional forms of poetry
It often Includes collaboration and experimentation with other art forms such as Music, Theatre and Dance .In entertainment Spoken Word performances generally consist of storytelling and Poetry.
But enough Jibar-Jabar from Wikipedia, Not just anyone can master and perform this art hence Much Respect is given to Spoken Word artistes. Permit me to Introduce you to the the some good works.
We Will NOT LET EXAM RESULTS DECIDE OUR FATE
